MSI has announced a new addition to its mobile display family—the PRO MP165 E6. This 15.6-inch monitor is positioned as a budget-friendly solution for remote work, studying, or serving as a secondary screen for a laptop.
It features an IPS panel with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. With a 60Hz refresh rate, a brightness level of 250 nits, and less than 50% sRGB color gamut coverage, this monitor is clearly designed for office tasks and casual content consumption rather than serious graphic design work.
A major convenience of this model is its versatile connectivity. You can feed it a video signal using either an HDMI 2.0b port or one of its two USB-C ports. The latter support DisplayPort Alt Mode and can simultaneously handle video transmission and deliver up to 15W of power to a connected device, minimizing cable clutter.
Weighing just 780 grams and measuring less than 1.4 cm thick, the monitor is easy to toss into a backpack. MSI has also included a tilt adjustment option and a standard 1/4-inch tripod mount for flexible workspace setup. For eye comfort, it incorporates MSI's EyesErgo technology to reduce flicker and blue light emissions. The package includes L-shaped (HDMI and Type-C) cables that are less obtrusive during transport, plus the Display Kit utility for fine-tuning the image.
The new monitor is priced at just $115, making it one of the most affordable options in its category. For comparison, a portable monitor from Chinese company Arzopa, which we covered earlier, offers a higher refresh rate and resolution, but also comes in at more than twice the price of MSI's model.
It's also worth mentioning the recent announcement of an unusual keyboard with a built-in monitor from KeyGo, which can also double as a secondary display for a laptop.
