Lucasfilm has officially announced the start of production on Star Wars: Starfighter. To mark the occasion, the studio shared the first photo from the set and confirmed the cast.
The image features Ryan Gosling alongside Flynn Gray, best known for his roles in Sherlock’s Daughter and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. The film will also star Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.
Directed by Shawn Levy — the filmmaker behind Deadpool & Wolverine and producer of Stranger Things — Starfighter will take place in a previously unexplored era of the Star Wars saga.

Star Wars: Starfighter is set to hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
