Resident Evil-Inspired Horror Game Resident Fear 3: Ascension Launches on Steam

Gamesoft has released Resident Fear 3: Ascension, a budget-friendly horror game heavily inspired by Resident Evil, on Steam. To celebrate the launch, the game is currently 20% off.

Resident Fear 3: Ascension is a single-player, first-person survival horror shooter set three days after a virus outbreak in Raccoon City, turning its inhabitants into zombies. Players take on the role of Nathan, who, along with two companions, must survive, fight off the infected, and stop the person responsible for the epidemic.

According to the developers, Resident Fear 3: Ascension is the culmination of the series. The first installment was released in 2023, followed by the second in 2024. A bundle containing all three games is also available.

This release comes on the heels of other budget Resident Evil-esque titles. Recently, the free-to-play mobile horror game Nightmares Within launched on Google Play. Shortly before that, the mobile horror strategy game Resident Evil: Survival Unit, an official spin-off of Capcom's iconic series, arrived on Android (currently available in select regions).
