Gearbox is ramping up for the release of Borderlands 4. Following its global launch map, the studio has unveiled the official launch trailer.

The new video highlights the series’ trademark feature — trillions of unique guns. Borderlands 4 will also support full cross-play and four-player co-op.

Like previous entries, the game will receive regular post-launch updates. By the end of 2025, players can expect new weapons and the first content pack, followed in early 2026 by a full-fledged story expansion introducing a new Vault Hunter.

Before this, Gearbox released character trailers spotlighting the main heroes: Vex the Siren, Amon the bearded knight, Rafa the agile exosoldier, and Harlow the Gravitar.

Borderlands 4 launches September 11 on PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players will get in at midnight on September 12, while Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait until October 3. The Switch port has already drawn criticism for poor optimization.
