There’s still no official news on Marvel’s Wolverine, so insiders continue to fill the gap. Journalist and insider Tom Henderson recently appeared on the Insider Gaming podcast, where he discussed Insomniac Games’ upcoming superhero action title.
According to Henderson, he spoke with several playtesters who told him the game “looks fantastic.” He believes the next trailer will debut either at September’s State of Play or during The Game Awards 2025 in December.
So that's good news, and fingers crossed we get to see a release date in a couple of weeks' time.
Marvel’s Wolverine was announced back in 2021, but Insomniac has shared almost nothing since. Henderson noted that the major 2023 leak — which exposed confidential data, including story details — had a significant impact on development.
It obviously was delayed to quite a big extent. From what I've managed to hear, from people working on the project, obviously, the ransomware attack and all the game leaking is one thing, but then the emotional strain that it places on people when you have all of your information leaked, like your address, social security numbers, and all that kind of stuff, is massive.
Henderson previously reported on Ubisoft’s release slate for the next two years, which includes Far Cry 7, a Splinter Cell remake, and the long-forgotten Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Meanwhile, Sony is gearing up to launch a new exclusive next month — the samurai action game Ghost of Yotei. The studio shared a fresh trailer yesterday.
