AI-Enhanced Mortal Kombat 3 Characters Show Off HD Remaster Potential

YouTuber Kane has given us a glimpse of what the characters from Mortal Kombat 3 might look like if the game received an HD remaster. The enthusiast has uploaded a video showcasing AI-upscaled versions of the fighters.
The video features 13 revamped characters from the third installment: Kano, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Nightwolf, Mileena, Sektor, Kung Lao, Jax, Sindel, Shang Tsung, Sheeva, and Shao Kahn.

Speaking of Mortal Kombat, a compilation titled Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is currently in development, which will include Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat 4, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition, Mortal Kombat Advance, Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, and Mortal Kombat: Special Forces. Digital Eclipse, known for collections like Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, The Disney Afternoon Collection, Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, is developing the project. It is expected to release by the end of 2025 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
In other Mortal Kombat news, a 1:10 scale Ermac collectible figure was recently announced for $160, scheduled for release in Q2 2026. Before that, a new look at Baraka, played by CJ Bloomfield, from the Mortal Kombat 2 movie surfaced online. The movie, by the way, has been pushed back to May 15, 2026.
