A fresh NVIDIA Game Ready driver (version 581.29) is now live. This update primarily focuses on optimizing performance for two upcoming blockbusters, Borderlands 4 and Dying Light: The Beast, but it also brings a welcome set of bug fixes to the table. The new driver ensures full compatibility with DLSS 4 technology, including its Multi Frame Generation feature. For Dying Light: The Beast, it also enables the DLSS Ray Reconstruction function, which is responsible for enhanced ray tracing in global illumination and reflection effects.

According to NVIDIA's data, combining DLSS 4 modes in Borderlands 4 can boost frame rates by over 5x on GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards. Meanwhile, NVIDIA Reflex technology slashes system latency by 54% in the same game, a critical advantage for competitive online play. Beyond the game-specific optimizations, this update squashes a nasty performance issue that some players encountered in Marvel Rivals with previous driver versions.

The developers also noted that fixes for several other known issues are in the pipeline. These include text distortion in Counter-Strike 2 with non-standard resolution settings, random hangs in Adobe Premiere Pro during export, and lighting flickering in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It's worth recalling that the previous driver, version 581.15, was shown in testing by JayzTwoCents to cause a 4-6.5% performance dip. It is currently unknown if this new driver package resolves that particular problem.

The WHQL-certified driver 581.29 is available for download now through the official NVIDIA GeForce Experience app or directly from the company's website.

This release continues NVIDIA's trend of addressing specific, timely issues in games and software. The company is gradually tackling broader driver stability and performance concerns by not only optimizing for new releases but also shipping critical fixes for existing popular titles — a effort that's being positively noted by the community.
