Borderlands 4 has officially launched on PC today. Players can choose from three editions: a Standard Edition ($70), a Deluxe Edition ($100), and a Super Deluxe Edition ($130).

This fourth installment in the beloved looter-shooter series takes place on the planet Kairos, ruled by the ruthless, time-bending dictator known as the Time Keeper. You take on the role of a Vault Hunter tasked with leading the resistance and taking down this despotic ruler and his army of synthetic followers. As with previous Borderlands games, you'll get to choose from four playable characters: the hulking Bruiser, Amon; the former scientist, Harlowe; the ex-soldier, Rafa; and the Siren, Vex. Each character boasts unique abilities and their own skill trees to customize your playstyle.

Gearbox Software recently unveiled their post-launch roadmap for Borderlands 4, promising a steady stream of content. In 2026, the game is slated to receive two paid story expansions. The first DLC, titled Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, will add a brand new playable character, a new region to explore, fresh main and side quests, powerful new Legendary gear, and much more.

Borderlands 4 marks a series first, built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5. It's out now on PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions hitting shelves soon. A Nintendo Switch 2 release is slated for October 3rd. PC players can grab the game on Steam and the Epic Games Store. To run it, you'll need at least an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and 100GB of SSD space.

Ahead of launch, reviews for Borderlands 4 dropped online. The game currently holds an average score of 85/100 on OpenCritic. Critics have praised the open world, endgame content, humor, and new gameplay mechanics.
