‘Don’t blame Liam, blame Netflix’: Fans slam ‘The Witcher’ season 4 trailer without Henry Cavill

Season 4 of The Witcher arrives at the end of October. On Tuesday, Netflix released a new trailer, finally showing Liam Hemsworth in action as Geralt.

For the first three seasons, the White Wolf was played by Henry Cavill. In 2022, the actor announced he would no longer appear in the series and officially passed the swords to Hemsworth.

The new trailer racked up nearly 1 million views in a day, but the stats paint a grim picture. According to the Return YouTube Dislike browser extension, the video received 44,000 dislikes versus 19,000 likes. The reason is no mystery: many fans still can’t accept Cavill’s departure.

Some viewers urged fans not to take their frustration out on Liam Hemsworth and to give him a chance.

Remember guys: don't blame Liam, blame the Producers.

Liam looks a lot like his brother here... my first thought was, "Thor visits the Continent!" I'll give Liam a chance, but Henry Cavill was perfect for the part.

Cavill isn’t the only major cast change in The Witcher. Kim Bodnia, who played Vesemir, has also left the series, with Peter Mullan stepping into the role.

As for Cavill, his next big project is the Highlander reboot. Recently, reports surfaced that the actor suffered an injury, forcing production to be pushed back slightly.
