Escape from Tarkov gets a Steam page — but current owners will have to buy it again

Battlestate Games has officially launched the long-promised Steam page for Escape from Tarkov. A release date on Valve’s platform hasn’t been revealed yet, but the studio previously announced that the shooter will leave early access on November 15.

For now, users can add the game to their wishlist, read the description, and check out new screenshots. On the page, the developers describe Escape from Tarkov as the first-ever extraction shooter.

Escape from Tarkov is the benchmark. This is where the mechanics of escaping from a conflict zone came into being. It isn't just PvP or PvE — It's a world where every decision impacts your survival. Every raid is a unique scenario. You go in taking risks and come out with the spoils, or don't come out at all.

According to the FAQ on the official website, current Escape from Tarkov owners will have to purchase the game again if they want to play it on Steam. Progress will carry over, however, as the game requires a Battlestate Games account to log in.

To play Escape from Tarkov through Steam, you must purchase any edition of the game on Steam. You can then link your existing Battlestate Games account with an active copy of the game to your Steam profile. If the editions differ, it will automatically use the higher edition of the two when launching the game through Steam.

For example: If you bought the Standard Edition on Steam but your Battlestate Games account already has The Unheard Edition, launching the game through Steam will grant you access to The Unheard Edition profile.

It’s worth noting that on September 16, Arena Breakout: Infinite — a free-to-play Tarkov-like shooter — officially launched on Steam, after previously being available only through its own launcher.
