Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter continues filming, with production recently moving to sunny Sardinia. A new behind-the-scenes photo shows Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray, whose roles remain under wraps. The caption simply reads: “Somewhere in the Mediterranean.”
The cast also includes Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.
Plot details are tightly guarded, but Lucasfilm has confirmed the film will tell a “completely original story.” The events take place about five years after The Rise of Skywalker, when Rey defeated Emperor Palpatine.
Starfighter is slated for release on May 28, 2027. Before that, in May 2026, Lucasfilm will debut a Mandalorian movie centered on Din Djarin and Grogu — the first Star Wars feature in seven years.
