Enthusiasts have been putting Dying Light: The Beast's PC version through its paces on Android smartphones, using the Winlator emulator to see if the zombie action title is playable on mobile.
YouTube channel PlayGame86 managed to get the game running on a POCO F6 Pro, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, at a resolution of 800x600. Using Winlator CMod 13.1.1, the game achieved frame rates of 10-30 FPS.
A second video, posted by YouTuber WINLATORHD, didn't specify the Android device model or the Winlator version. However, Dying Light: The Beast was reportedly running on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Unfortunately, performance wasn't great, with frame rates hovering between 7-12 FPS.
Originally conceived as a major story expansion for Dying Light 2, Dying Light: The Beast eventually evolved into a standalone game. It was given away for free to owners of the Ultimate Edition of the second game. The project had a great start on Steam, reaching an online peak of over 120,000 people. In addition, the game has received 89% positive reviews on Valve's service.
Previously, Dying Light: The Beast featured references to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Harry Potter, and Minecraft. Before that, the PC version of the game was tested on 33 different graphics cards, including the RTX 3060, RTX 4060, and RTX 5090.
