S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Gets Major Patch 1.6 With Night Vision, Improved Gunplay, and the ‘Return of The Old Friend’

The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 have announced the release of major patch 1.6, which adds night vision goggles along with a range of other updates. The launch was accompanied by a new trailer titled Night of the Hunter.

Patch 1.6 highlights:

  • Skif can now use night vision goggles;
  • NPC vision reworked for nighttime conditions;
  • New appearance and hairstyle options for female NPCs;
  • New laser sight attachment;
  • Offset aiming added;
  • NPCs can now loot mutant corpses;
  • New anomaly — Fireball;
  • Rebalanced loot in stashes;
  • Option to create local saves and restore backups;
  • New weapon — the “Drahunka”;
  • Various AI improvements: NPCs now take proper cover behind trees, and mutants no longer get stuck or clip through objects;
  • Patch increases boar health and weakens pseudogiants;
  • New death animations for NPCs killed by anomalies;
  • Fixes for numerous bugs, crashes, and performance issues.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is available on PC and Xbox Series X/S, as well as through Game Pass. The PlayStation 5 release is set for November 20.
