Disney Plus has released Marvel Zombies, a digital-first miniseries set in an alternate Marvel Comics universe. The story follows a ragtag group of superheroes who must stop an undead plague and once again save the world.
Chronologically, Marvel Zombies takes place several years after Episode 5 of the anthology series What If…?. The animated show features Blade, Spider-Man, Yelena Belova and many other fan-favorite characters — along with zombie versions of Thanos and Steve Rogers.

After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world.
The cast includes many familiar MCU actors: Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Tessa Thompson, Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Hailee Steinfeld, Wyatt Russell, Randall Park, Iman Vellani and Dominique Thorne.
Marvel Zombies consists of four episodes and carries a TV-MA (17+) rating. Early reviews are positive: with an 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes, critics note the series is worth watching for its brutal action and countless Easter eggs — though it still carries the familiar strengths and weaknesses of the MCU.
