Age of Mythology: Retold — Heavenly Spear DLC Gets Official Launch Trailer

Microsoft has released a launch trailer for the Heavenly Spear DLC for Age of Mythology: Retold, launching September 30th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Heavenly Spear follows Yasuko, a Japanese girl who discovers a magical spear and finds herself thrust into a world of gods and monsters. Guided by the spear's guardian, she must stop the ruthless warlord Kagemase from obtaining the ancient relic and using it to conquer the sun goddess Amaterasu and claim godhood. The DLC boasts 12 handcrafted missions featuring memorable characters and cinematic storytelling. Players can also look forward to new units inspired by Japanese folklore – including Kitsune (fox spirits), the terrifying Shinigami, winged Tengu, skilled Shinobi, and more – plus six new multiplayer maps.

Pre-orders are now open. On Steam in the US, it's priced at $17 USD.

In other news, Microsoft recently officially announced Forza Horizon 6, an open-world racing game set in Japan, launching in 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
