CD Projekt RED isn’t just busy with The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 — the studio has also been working on a major update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that will add cross-platform mod support. Originally scheduled for 2025, the patch has now been pushed back.
The release is now planned for 2026 on PC and Xbox Series X/S, allowing console players to install mods such as HalkHogan’s popular texture pack.
We originally planned to introduce cross-platform mod support for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year, but the rollout is now shifting to 2026. We apologize for the delay and will share more details as we get closer to the release. Thank you for your patience!
The mod support patch was first announced as part of the game’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Alongside the reveal, CD Projekt RED also shared commemorative art, a trailer, and a new physical edition of Gwent.
As for what’s next, the studio has yet to share updates on its upcoming titles. Fans may hear more at The Game Awards 2025 this December, where major projects are traditionally unveiled.
