The cooperative survival horror game Macabre, inspired by Alien: Isolation, Hunt: Showdown, and Escape from Tarkov, has just launched in Steam Early Access.

In Macabre, players must venture into a time rift for high-stakes raids. The main objective is to explore a procedurally generated map, gather loot, and successfully reach the extraction point. The challenge is heightened by a monster that, according to the developers, adapts to player actions. If a character dies during a raid, they lose all the loot they've collected. The current Early Access version is quite limited in content: players have access to just one map, random objectives, a progression system, and voice chat. According to the developers, Macabre will remain in Early Access for up to two years. During this time, they plan to add animals, new monsters, fresh objectives, improved enemy AI, and more.

Player reception has been critical so far—the game currently holds a 36% rating on Steam. Reviews mention weak visuals, empty environments, and poor monster AI as the main drawbacks.

Earlier, the 3D platformer PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC, a remaster of Pac-Man World 2, was released for PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Before that, the arcade racer Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launched and received over 97% positive reviews on Steam.
