This September marks the 30th anniversary of PlayStation’s launch in North America and Europe—a milestone moment for the gaming industry. To celebrate, Sony Interactive Entertainment is releasing "PlayStation: The First 30 Years," a comprehensive photo book spanning 400 pages, packed with rare prototypes, concept art, and models that shaped the history of PlayStation consoles and controllers.
The book will showcase the evolution of the brand across generations and is set to become a prized collectible. It’s scheduled for release in spring 2026 and is already available for pre-order at $125.
A limited edition version will also be available for $325, featuring an open-spine book (revealing the binding structure), a presentation case, and exclusive prints.
In addition, to mark the 30th anniversary, PlayStation is teaming up with Reebok for a sneaker collection inspired by the original console. The collection includes three models: InstaPump Fury 94 (Japan), Pump Omni Zone II (USA), and Workout Plus (UK). Each pair comes in unique limited-edition packaging with a gray color scheme and design elements reminiscent of the classic PlayStation. The collection is set to launch in October, with pricing details yet to be announced.
Sony also thanked fans for participating in the #PlayStation30Memories campaign, where players shared their favorite PlayStation memories.
