Ghost of Yotei, a new open-world samurai action game from Sucker Punch Productions, has officially launched on October 2. The game is priced at $70.
In Ghost of Yotei, players follow a young woman named Atsu, whose parents were murdered by a bandit gang. To hunt them down, Atsu travels to Mount Yotei — a dangerous northern region of Japan reminiscent of the Wild West.
The story takes place 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. For the sequel, the developers expanded the combat system — Atsu now wields five main weapon types and fights alongside a wolf companion — and enriched open-world exploration with new side activities.
To mark the release, IGN published a graphics comparison video showcasing the game’s three main visual modes: Quality, Performance, and Ray Tracing. There’s also a PS5 Pro–exclusive mode featuring enhanced ray tracing and 60 FPS support.
Ghost of Yotei currently holds a score of 87 on Metacritic. Reviewers praised it as a polished and “safe” sequel that’s sure to please fans of the original game.
