A fresh look at The Outer Worlds 2, Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi RPG, has surfaced online. Game Informer shared roughly 20 minutes of footage captured in the game’s opening area, Paradise Island.
The video showcases one of the first major missions, where the player must infiltrate a guarded base and lower a bridge. According to journalists, there are multiple ways to complete the task — players can either help a guard or attempt a stealthy approach.
Reporters also noted improved gunplay and level design better suited for stealth. Additionally, the main character now has access to a handy acid spray gadget that can dissolve enemy bodies.
The Outer Worlds 2 launches on October 29 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The game will also be available day one via Game Pass Ultimate.
Notably, this marks Obsidian’s second RPG release in 2025 — earlier this year, the studio launched Avowed. You can read our review here.
