At IGN Fall Fan Fest 2025, Owlcat Games confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is heading to Nintendo Switch 2. The release date has not yet been announced.
Rogue Trader is an isometric cRPG set in the Warhammer 40K universe, where players take on the role of an heir to an ancient dynasty of space traders exploring the outer reaches of the Imperium. The game combines deep tactical combat with a branching story where choices shape the fate of entire star systems.
The original version launched in December 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, earning high praise from critics. Reviewers highlighted its strong narrative, large scale, and well-designed combat system, while noting pacing issues and technical flaws.
Since release, the developers have rolled out several major updates and DLCs, including the June expansion Lex Imperialis. The game currently holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.
Alongside the port announcement, Owlcat Games also revealed that alpha testing for the sequel — Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy — will begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Earlier, we reported on the new Anno 117: Pax Romana trailer, which showcased massive construction projects and revealed that the campaign will support co-op play.
