The co-op horror first-person shooter Species: Unknown has officially launched into Steam Early Access. Until November 3rd, the game is available with a 10% discount.

In Species: Unknown, players step into the boots of mercenaries sent to an abandoned spaceship overrun by terrifying monsters. Gamers must complete various objectives, ranging from extracting a black box and eliminating unknown threats to destroying the vessel itself, and more.

The current version of Species: Unknown features several monster types with unique behaviors, a single-player mode, four-player co-op, multiple contract types (recovery, destruction, capture, and elimination), one map, and the ability to upgrade equipment.

The project has garnered an impressive 95% positive reviews so far.

This game is genuinely awesome, atmospheric, and at times genuinely spooky. It's beautifully made; you can feel the attention to detail, and the monsters look spine-chilling. The missions are varied, there's a progression system, and overall, it feels more engaging than Phasmophobia. Playing with friends is pure fun, especially when the screams and panic start in voice chat. However, the content is a bit lacking for now. I'd love to see more locations than just the ship; for example, abandoned bases or Alien-style planets. More tools, guns, and different monster types are also needed. And most importantly, more diverse objectives, as the idea of varied goals is brilliant and needs further development. Overall, it's a very atmospheric, scary, and cool game. I'm looking forward to updates and highly recommend it, especially if you have a group of friends. Gameplay – 10/10.

Surprisingly, an excellent game! At first, it seems like a simple space survival game, but the developers did a great job with the atmosphere; a lot of it is inspired by 'Alien.' Although, the little ball-shaped monster with blue eyes is more cute than scary. It reveals itself quickly: I feel there’s about 12-14 hours of content currently. If you're dedicated and want to complete everything, I think you could easily spend 20 hours.

Yeah, not much to say here. The game is interesting, though it does have its flaws. For example, why did they make the starting menu so huge? And secondly, there's no in-game chat, which is a real problem. Not all players use microphones and just run around silently. How are you supposed to communicate with them? Oh, and right: too few in-game locations. I'd like at least 3-4.

The game is expected to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 months. The price will gradually increase over time.
