Season 4 of The Witcher has premiered on Netflix, with all eight episodes now available on streaming platform.
This marks the first season without Henry Cavill, who left the series in 2023. Geralt of Rivia is now portrayed by Liam Hemsworth, best known for The Hunger Games.
The refreshed cast also includes Laurence Fishburne as Regis, Danny Woodburn as Zoltan, and Peter Mullan as Vesemir.
The new season hasn’t received an aggregate score yet, but early reviews have started to appear online. Variety praised the show for its “gorgeously shot” fight scenes and a tighter narrative compared to last season. Meanwhile, a TheWrap critic was less impressed by the new Geralt, writing: “Hemsworth’s Geralt can wield all the magic and drink all the potions in the world, it still won’t help this character come back to life.”
Alongside the main release, Netflix also dropped a special episode centered on the Rats gang. The 1-hour-22-minute feature includes a surprise appearance by Dolph Lundgren, who plays the witcher Bregen.
