ARC Raiders Is Shaping Up to Be One of the Most Optimized UE5 Games
Arkadiy Andrienko
The new shooter ARC Raiders from Embark Studios, the team behind The Finals, could set a new optimization benchmark for games using Unreal Engine 5. Early performance tests on PC indicate that the game not only boasts a detailed visual presentation but also runs noticeably smoother than many recent releases.
Experts note that even on a non-flagship graphics card like the GeForce RTX 5070, gameplay remains comfortable all the way up to 4K resolution. At 1440p with maxed-out settings and DLAA enabled, the game consistently delivers 80-90 frames per second, with smooth frametimes even during intense firefights. Switching to DLSS Quality mode boosts the framerate to 120 FPS with practically no perceptible impact on image clarity.
Unlike many other UE5 projects, ARC Raiders exhibits almost no severe performance stuttering, pointing to thorough optimization work by the developers. Minor lag spikes observed during online sessions are exclusively server-related and not tied to hardware load.
When moving up to 4K with DLSS Quality, the game continues to run at a comfortable 70 FPS, allowing gamers with compatible monitors to enjoy the detailed visuals without major compromises to smoothness. The only engine-typical flaw is some slight shimmering on certain elements, like fine grass, though this is a familiar issue for anyone following UE5 games.
Judging by these first impressions, the team at Embark Studios has managed to create a project that doesn't let you down in crucial moments, allowing you to focus entirely on tactics and coordinating with your squad, rather than on finding ways to boost your FPS.
