Milestone Team has released a detailed gameplay video for Screamer, a new arcade racing title that revives the spirit of the classic 90s series of the same name. The footage highlights the game’s core racing mechanics, its unique power-up system, and the aggressive, collision-heavy driving style.

The key feature of Screamer is its dual-energy system: Sync and Echo. Sync builds up through various actions — such as gear shifting or using a racer’s special ability. Spending Sync on boosts or shields activates Echo, an offensive mode that lets players ram opponents and knock them off the track.

Once the Echo bar is fully charged, players can trigger Overdrive — a high-risk, high-reward state that boosts speed, strengthens armor, and increases ramming power. However, it comes with a catch: crashing into a wall after Overdrive ends will cause your car to explode.

Screamer was announced last year and is set to launch in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles. Judging by its style and pace, the game looks like a spiritual successor to classic arcade racers such as Ridge Racer and Wipeout, but with modern visuals and a stronger focus on combat mechanics.
