Nintendo has released its latest financial report for the second quarter of the fiscal year, showing a massive 83.1% increase in net profit compared to last year.
The main driver behind the surge is the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. As of the end of September, the hybrid console had sold 10.36 million units. The company now expects total sales to reach 19 million by the end of the fiscal year in March — up from its previous forecast of 15 million.
Meanwhile, the original Nintendo Switch continues to perform strongly, adding another 1.89 million units this quarter and bringing its lifetime total to 154.01 million.
