Windows 11 users who couldn't get used to the system's redesigned interface now have the option to install a unique update. Developers have released a new version of the Explorer Patcher program, which allows you to bring back classic elements from Windows 10 into Windows 11, so you can stay on version 11 while remaining in version 10.

The fresh update brings over twenty fixes that improve the shell's stability, with key improvements including a solution for the "Explorer" issue, alongside developers fixing graphical errors that occurred in some configurations.

This release pays special attention to compatibility with ARM-architecture computers. On such devices, the full functionality of the classic menu invoked by the Win+X key combination and the standard Alt+Tab window switching has been restored. Users will also see the familiar animations when opening and closing applications again.

Explorer Patcher remains one of the most sought-after unofficial tools for customizing Windows 11. Its popularity highlights that a part of the community still prefers proven classics over new design solutions from Microsoft, especially after the end of support for Windows 10. The latest version of the utility can be downloaded from its GitHub page.

Interestingly, the evolution of Windows 11 today seems to be moving in two seemingly opposite directions. On one hand, tools like Explorer Patcher are in demand by those who value the proven classic interface. On the other — Microsoft is actively pushing other ways of interacting, like the recently introduced voice control for Copilot with the "Hey, Copilot" command.
