If you thought the demoness Malevola from Dispatch looked suspiciously familiar — you weren't wrong. According to AdHoc studio art director Derek Stratton, the character's image grew out of an old 1990s Pepsi commercial.
She's a "sexy demoness." We were inspired by that very commercial where Cindy Crawford walks up to the vending machine in a white bodysuit and denim shorts. Everyone went crazy back then. That's where Malevola was born.
The creators went further and added the body of fitness influencer LeanBeefPatty, known for her incredible muscles and steel abs, to the character.
It's Cindy Crawford from that commercial, but in the body of a "hot demonic lady."
As a result, Malevola combines the glamour of a 1990s model and the strength of a woman who, in the developer's own words, "could snap your fingers like celery stalks."
She had an effect on players — many regret there's no romance with her. Nevertheless, it's characters like these that helped the superhero action game Dispatch attract more than 2 million players.
