On December 2, the open-world action game Assassin's Creed Shadows, developed by Canadian studio Ubisoft Quebec, launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The game is priced at $60.
Assassin's Creed Shadows runs at 30 frames per second in both handheld and docked modes on the Nintendo Switch 2. To optimize the game for Nintendo's hybrid console, developers had to reduce texture quality, lower draw distance, and decrease the number of NPCs.
Set in feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows follows the story of kunoichi Naoe and samurai Yasuke. The game originally launched on March 20, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Critics praised the project for its beautiful graphics, detailed open world, and solid combat system. However, common criticisms included a weak story, poor enemy AI, and repetitive gameplay. The game currently holds a 78% positive review score on Steam. You can find our review here.
Recently, Assassin's Creed Shadows launched a collaboration with the anime Attack on Titan, introducing a new story-driven edition with exclusive rewards, as well as a paid bundle featuring a Titan costume for Yasuke, a Mikasa costume for Naoe, weapons, and a mount.
