The sci-fi action film Tron: Ares has officially made its digital debut, launching on December 2nd. The movie is already available to stream on various international platforms and will hit DVD and Blu-ray on December 6th.

This marks the third feature film in the Tron franchise, which originally premiered in theaters on October 10th. The story centers on a program named Ares, who is dispatched from the digital realm to the real world on a mission to find and secure 'The Permanence Code.' The film was helmed by Joachim Rønning, known for his work on Young Woman and the Sea and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Acclaimed American actor Jared Leto stars as the titular character.

Tron: Ares faced a lukewarm reception from critics, earning a 53% 'Rotten' score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 48/100 on Metacritic. It also struggled at the global box office, managing to gross only $141 million worldwide, making it a commercial disappointment.

In other movie news, Paramount Pictures recently announced a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature film, set to be inspired by the Sonic the Hedgehog movie series. Prior to that, it was reported that Zootopia 2 had grossed an impressive $556 million globally within its first five days of release.
