Actress Milly Alcock, who will play Supergirl in a new solo film, admitted in an interview with Forbes Australia that she doubted whether to accept the role. All because of her lack of confidence in her own acting abilities.

When Alcock received the confirmation message for the role of Supergirl, she was delighted, but at the same time very scared.

«I thought, ‘What have I done?’,” she says. “I really struggled to believe I could do it. I even called the director saying, ‘I don’t know how to be that person. I’m just me’».

However, when the panic passed, the actress decided to participate in the filming.

«Eventually I realised the only way through was to trust myself. I always believe life is right on time. Things happen when they’re supposed to, whether you feel ready or not».

Millie Alcock also shared that she had already felt the first signs of popularity. Even after her role in the TV series "House of the Dragon", she began to be recognized on the street.

«People mean well,” she says. “But sometimes they invade your space, they chase you. You lose anonymity. I still want to take the tube and go to the pub.” She still does, though she says it depends on the postcode. “In London, it’s fine. In other places, not so much. It comes in waves. I know when Supergirl comes out, things will shift again».

In her opinion, after the release of the Supergirl movie, this problem will return.

Supergirl is scheduled to premiere in June 2026. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, and the cast, in addition to Millie Alcock, includes Jason Momoa and Matthias Schoenaerts.
