Fresh Android 16 Update Expands OS Features for Smartphones of Various Brands

Owners of smartphones running Android 16 have started receiving a significant system update. The key new feature is an artificial intelligence function that creates brief summaries from long notifications, such as those from group chats. This feature, previously exclusive to Google Pixel smartphones, now goes wider. Google's AI focuses specifically on messages from instant messengers, analyzing the conversation and generating a concise version that can be read quickly without opening the app.
Simultaneously, the system has gained a smart notification organizer that automatically recognizes and relegates to a separate, "silent" category alerts often considered spam: promotional mailings, notifications, and news from social networks.
Additionally, a new security feature has been added to help recognize potentially fraudulent calls. It utilizes the Circle to Search technology, and a button for marking urgent calls has also appeared in the standard phone app. Google continues to develop tools for users with disabilities. On YouTube, the "Expressive Captions" feature has become available to all. During live streams on Android devices, the system can now detect and display the speaker's emotions in real time, adding tags like [joyfully] or [sadly] to the text.
Voice control of the smartphone has been simplified. The Voice Access feature can now be launched with a single voice command, without the need to tap the screen. For interface personalization, Android 16 has added an expanded dark theme that can automatically darken the interface of even those applications where this option was not originally provided by the developer. Users will also gain more freedom in customizing the home screen, including changing the shape of app icons.
The update is rolling out in stages and may appear on devices from different brands at different times. The full list of changes can be found in the official Google blog for Android developers.
