Psychologists opposed GTA 6 because of too realistic graphics in the game

Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been released yet, but it has already begun to gather critics around itself. This time, the reason was the overly realistic graphics, which should be the hallmark of the game. According to psychologists, this will negatively affect the emotional state of the players.
Apparently, the graphics in GTA 6 will be close to photorealistic. At the same time, when virtual worlds begin to resemble real life too much, it becomes more difficult to perceive violence as fiction, psychologists say.
The concerns expressed are very standard for such discussions. In particular, the blurring of the boundaries between fiction and reality for young players, as well as a decrease in sensitivity due to the repeated repetition of violent acts. It is understood that in every part of GTA, the use of force is one of the main mechanics.
However, this is far from the most serious problem that has arisen against the background of the development of GTA 6. Recently, the Independent Workers' union The Union of Great Britain (IWGB) has appealed to a British court demanding temporary legal protection for game developers who were fired from Rockstar Games in the fall of 2025. The preliminary hearing of the labour tribunal was held in Glasgow.
Earlier, there were questions about whether the developers would be able to release the game in the fall of 2026. 80% of the surveyed players doubt this.
