At CES 2026, Keychron showcased an unconventional peripheral—the Nape Pro module. This is a compact trackball with programmable buttons, intended for placement right alongside a keyboard. The device features a rectangular form factor (135.2 × 34.7 mm) and is equipped with a 25mm ball for navigation and six programmable buttons.

Its standout feature is the proprietary OctaShift function. This automatically detects the module's spatial orientation—whether it's placed vertically or horizontally—and reassigns the button functions accordingly. This allows for flexible reconfiguration of your workspace layout on the fly.

The technical specs include a Realtek chip enabling a 1kHz polling rate and a PixArt PAW3222 optical sensor. The Nape Pro supports three connection modes: Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless via a dongle, or wired USB-C.

The company has also announced plans to release 3D-printable files. This will allow users to fabricate their own accessories, such as stands or replacement panels, for personalizing the device.

Keychron has not yet revealed precise launch timing or approximate pricing for the Nape Pro. The device is positioned as an ergonomic solution for those seeking to minimize hand movement between the keyboard and mouse during work or gaming, but it is not intended to be a full mouse replacement.
