Developer KUNOS Simulazioni has released a new trailer showcasing the upcoming Eifel Free Roam mode for Assetto Corsa EVO. This new feature will allow players to freely explore a vast territory surrounding the iconic Nürburgring circuit in Germany’s Eifel mountains.
The Eifel Free Roam mode introduces an open-world experience complete with AI traffic and pedestrians. The environment features a realistic network of roads connecting the legendary track to nearby German villages and winding forest serpentines. Players will be able to cruise at their own pace, pull into parking lots, and visit functional gas stations. To enhance the immersion, Kunos has implemented a full day/night cycle and a dynamic weather system.
Assetto Corsa EVO is built on a brand-new proprietary engine designed to deliver a new level of realism, from advanced tire physics to laser-scanned tracks. The game launched into Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025, where it currently holds a 70% positive rating. Since its debut, the project has received four major updates, adding new vehicles, circuits, and core gameplay mechanics.
In other sim-racing news, the off-road focused Assetto Corsa Rally received its second major content patch this past December.
