78.5 million files from Discord could be put up for sale online. The archives contain text and voice messages, activity logs, and information about servers.

The attacker reported that the data had been collected for several months and was intended for a certain research project, which was later canceled. Now the hacker is ready to sell the archives to interested people, but the specific cost has not been announced.

It is worth noting that this is not a full-fledged hack. In this case, we conducted automated data collection from open servers.

Experts point out that this information itself has no special value, it can hardly be called secret. However, such a large assembly from publicly available files increases the risk of re-identification when compared with other sources.

In addition, the hacker provided a general description of the data structure, but did not publish complete samples sufficient for independent verification of the content. There is no other solid evidence either, and Discord has not officially commented on the situation.

The last major hacker attack on Discord occurred in October last year. Then the attackers could gain access to names, nicknames, email, partial payment information, IP addresses, the last four digits of credit cards, messages with support and single documents (passport, driver's license).
