Epic Games Store has published a report on the results of 2025. Some indicators, such as the amount of money spent by gamers, have increased. However, a number of important important aspects have become worse when compared with 2024. In particular, we are talking about the number of active users.
According to EGS, PC gamers spent $1.16 billion in the store last year, which is 6% more than in 2024. Spending on third-party games from the Epic Games Store increased by 57% to $400 million.
At the same time, the indicators regarding the activity of the players have dropped. For example, the number of monthly active users decreased by 1% to 67 million. There were 2% fewer unique users per day — 31 million.
The total playing time in the store has dropped by 14% and now stands at 6.65 billion hours. However, the time in third-party games, which are not developed by Epic Games, increased by 4% to 2.78 billion hours.
The Epic Games Store also reported that 100 games were distributed for free over the year. The average score among all free titles is 78%.
Recall that Epic Games has recently been making headlines due to the loud statements of the company's CEO Tim Sweeney. He recently accused Gabe Newell of being more expensive for diamond teeth than Steam. Sweeney later supported a $900 million lawsuit filed against Steam.
