The shareware action RPG Sea of Remnants will feature over 400 unique NPCs with their own names and action schedules. The developers of the game told about this and other details.
The player will explore the city of Orbtopia, where about 400 non-player characters live. Each of them will have a storyline that can change after interacting with the main character.
Residents will lead their own way of life, focusing on the time of day and the day of the week. That is, they will go to work on weekdays, and in the evenings and on weekends they will do their own things, for example, watch fights in underground arenas.
The developers promise such thoughtful NPCs that they will even have food preferences. Non-player characters can also be in opposing factions.
This creates many scenarios for wagering. For example, with the proper support from the player, an NPC can open his own business. But this does not mean success — the business may be doomed to failure.
Some NPCs can be brought along as companions, but communication with non-player characters is not a prerequisite. Their actions can be ignored or even killed by those who are particularly annoying. However, it is worth doing this, being sure that the disappearance of a person will not affect the structure of the city of Orbtopia.
Earlier, the developers said that the main character will be a sailor who has lost his memory, who went on a trip with a mysterious girl. They want to swim to the cursed ocean of the Sea of Remnants, full of riches and lost memories that shape the world.
The game is being developed for PC and PS5, and is expected to be released this year.
