For True Fans — Dark Horse Announces 472-Page Art Book for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Dark Horse has unveiled a new collector’s art book for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Titled Secrets of the Zonai, this massive 472-page volume is set for release in October 2026.

The art book will delve into the world and visual style of the game, with a special focus on the mysterious Zonai civilization. The standard edition will feature a wealth of illustrations, concept art, promotional materials, and behind-the-scenes content detailing the game’s development. Expect plenty of exclusive sketches, designer notes, and early drafts of the game’s artwork.

The expanded Hero’s Edition will offer collectors a premium set that includes an exclusive slipcase, an alternative cover, a cloth map of the Depths, an art print featuring Link and the Sages, and a replica of the Secret Stone of Time. Inside, readers will find extra sections: around 50 pages of final illustrations and promo art, nearly 300 pages of development materials and concepts, and over 80 pages dedicated to the history of Hyrule and the era of the Zonai.

The book also features interviews with key developers, including producer Eiji Aonuma, director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and art director Satoru Takizawa. In these interviews, the creators share insights into the game's world-building and visual design.

The art book is being published in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics and is already available for pre-order. The standard edition is priced at $59.99, while the Hero’s Edition will retail for $119.99.

By the way, a full-length The Legend of Zelda movie starring Link and Zelda is in the works. There are also rumors that Nintendo may be preparing a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
