One-Netbook has officially launched sales of its new portable PC, the OneXPlayer G1, which previously found success through crowdfunding on Indiegogo. The device is now available through the company’s official store in two configurations: one featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, the other powered by the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.
What sets the G1 apart is its hybrid, modular design. Thanks to a detachable keyboard, it can be used as a compact laptop or a tablet, giving it flexibility comparable to devices like the ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. However, unlike those, OneXPlayer is doubling down on modularity. The console supports between 32 and 64 GB of RAM and offers storage options up to 4 TB. Its 8.8-inch display boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and a sharp 2.5K resolution.
The choice to go all-in on AMD has sparked mixed reactions. Reviewers praise the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 for its energy efficiency in mobile setups, but some users are disappointed by the lack of an Intel-based option. Experts suggest this could limit the device’s appeal, particularly among users with workloads that rely on Intel’s architecture.
The G1 starts at $1,099 for the base model with a Ryzen 7 8840U, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. The high-end version with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 64 GB of RAM, and a massive 4 TB SSD is priced at $1,620. One-Netbook promises fast shipping for early buyers, with units already prepped for dispatch.
