Ayaneo has announced the Flip 1S DS, an updated take on its dual-screen portable computer. Touted as a true pocket PC, this device grabs attention with its dual-screen design and its use of AMD's latest mobile silicon.

The main attraction is a gorgeous 7-inch OLED display. It boasts Full HD resolution (1920x1080), a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and peaks at a bright 800 nits. The secondary 4.5-inch screen uses IPS technology with a 1620x1080 resolution (3:2 aspect ratio) and hits up to 550 nits. Crucially, Ayaneo points out that Windows 11 recognizes this second screen as a fully independent monitor. This unlocks tons of potential uses: think displaying game guides and chat windows, controlling media, or running productivity tools. The custom AYASpace 3.0 software adds even more flexibility, letting you emulate various input devices on that secondary display.

Powering the Flip 1S DS is one of AMD's top-tier mobile processors right now: the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This beefy chip combines 12 cores (Zen 5 and Zen 5c architectures), potent integrated Radeon 890M graphics with 16 RDNA 3.5 compute units, and a dedicated NPU for AI acceleration. It's backed by speedy LPDDR5X RAM and a fast M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 SSD.

For controls, Ayaneo is using premium TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) electromagnetic sticks with a 1000Hz polling rate. The triggers feature hall effect sensors, known for their durability and drift-free performance. The whole device hinges on an improved mechanism designed for smooth adjustment of the main screen's viewing angle.

Connectivity includes two full-featured USB4 Type-C ports (supporting charging and peripherals), a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless duties are handled by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. Ayaneo hasn't nailed down exact pricing or release dates for the Flip 1S DS just yet. It's also still unknown if a version with a physical keyboard is in the cards.
