ChatGPT's New Hidden Gem: A Built-In Interactive Quiz Generator

OpenAI's ChatGPT is quietly piling on new features. Recently, users discovered another unannounced capability: the chatbot can now generate interactive quizzes and tests directly in the chat window. To create your own quiz, just type a prompt on any topic and end it with the phrase “use QuizGPT.” The AI will instantly whip up a test with multiple questions and answer choices. As you answer, the system will immediately tell you if you got it right or wrong.

The feature works on a huge range of topics — from studying for history exams to testing your knowledge of a favorite TV show, all the way to programming skills. At the end of the quiz, ChatGPT will show your final score and offer options to make the questions harder, retry the ones you got wrong, or dive deeper into a specific subtopic.

Users also have the ability to share their finished quizzes with friends. The feature is already working stably in the web version and the mobile ChatGPT apps. No special mode, like the "Teaching" mode, needs to be activated to use it. OpenAI has not officially commented on this new capability yet. On social media, speculation suggests this could be a testing phase ahead of a full rollout, as currently, only ChatGPT Plus subscribers seem to have access. Nevertheless, the functionality is already quickly gaining popularity.

To make your own test in ChatGPT, just open a dialogue window and type: “Make a quiz about ...(your topic), use QuizGPT.” This update could be incredibly useful for students, teachers, and anyone who wants to test their knowledge on a subject in an interactive way.

Beyond implementing new features into its AI, OpenAI is also currently focused heavily on privacy issues. Following a court ruling that obligates OpenAI to indefinitely store all records of user dialogues with ChatGPT, the company is working on developing a system to encrypt chats.
