GMKTec has rolled out its new NucBox M5 Ultra mini-PC worldwide. The device is built around the powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor, targeting users who need high performance in a minimal footprint, albeit without a discrete graphics card.

The standout feature of the NucBox M5 Ultra is its support for up to three monitors simultaneously, including displays with resolutions as high as 8K. This makes it suitable for professional workflows like video editing, CAD design, and multi-screen graphics work. At its heart is the 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 7730U CPU, which features three customizable power modes, allowing users to strike a balance between silent operation and peak performance. The mini-PC employs a dual-fan cooling system to manage thermals.

For connectivity, it boasts two Gigabit Ethernet ports, making it a viable option for use as a compact server or router. It also comes equipped with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 modules. The NucBox M5 Ultra can serve as a capable replacement for a desktop PC for office work, study, or graphic design. Thanks to its compact dimensions (128.8 × 127 × 47.8 mm) and light weight of just half a kilogram, the device is highly portable. Furthermore, it can be easily mounted on the back of a monitor using the included VESA bracket.

Buyers can choose between a pre-configured model or a "Barebone" version without RAM or storage. The configuration with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD is priced at $309.99, while the 32GB/1TB version costs $359.99. The maximum RAM capacity can be expanded to 64GB, and the total storage across two M.2 slots can reach up to 16TB.

Sales began on the manufacturer's official website on September 19th, with retail availability expected by early October. GMKTec previously announced the AD-GP1 external graphics dock, designed for compact PCs and laptops and based on the mobile Radeon RX 7600M XT. Priced at $460, the AD-GP1 could be a great performance booster for a mini-PC like the M5 Ultra.
