According to the latest price monitoring data for PC components, the average price of RAM modules has increased 3.5 times from mid-September to mid-December 2025. German publication ComputerBase, which tracks price dynamics, published a monthly report showing this unprecedented surge.

Among the RAM models reviewed, the most significant increase was seen in the 32GB DDR5 TeamGroup T-Create Expert UDIMM kit — its price rose by nearly 380%. Kits from Patriot, Kingston, and Corsair increased by an average of 250-310%. Even the 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB kit, which showed the most moderate price growth among the RAM, became 185.7% more expensive.

Solid-state drives (SSDs) have also risen significantly in price — by an average of 41.6%. For example, the 1TB Kingston NV3 NVMe PCIe 4.0 model now costs almost 88% more, and the 2TB Lexar NM790 drive has increased by 72.7%. Hard disk drives (HDDs) remain the relatively most affordable type of storage, but their average price has also risen by a third. The leader in price growth in this category was the 24TB Seagate BarraCuda model, which increased in price by 73.1%.

Price tracking was based on the twelve most popular models in October 2025 in each category. The dynamics show that the sharpest surge in the RAM market occurred between November and December, while growth in October was less pronounced.

Thus, the sharp price increase for key PC components, especially RAM, is not seasonal but structural in nature. The main reason, as noted by industry analysts, is the unprecedented demand from the artificial intelligence industry. Major semiconductor manufacturers like Samsung, Micron, and SK hynix are massively reorienting their production capacities towards manufacturing memory for AI servers, creating an acute shortage in the consumer market.
