Wear OS Now Lets You Create Watch Faces Featuring Your Digital Twin
Google has expanded the customization options for its smartwatch platform interface. The updated Androidify app now includes a feature that allows Wear OS owners to create personalized watch faces using artificial intelligence.
This new tool is built on the Gemini and Imagen neural models. The algorithms can process a user's selfie to generate a stylized image in the signature style of Android bots. The system aims to preserve key facial features, offering both a realistic and a more fantastical avatar variant.
The created design can be applied to the face of connected watches with just a few taps. The app automatically optimizes the graphics for round or square displays, adjusting the composition and placement of elements.
For developers, Google has provided the technical capability to integrate similar functionality into third-party services. Documentation for the corresponding API has been published openly, which may lead to new apps featuring this personalization support.
The Androidify app update is already rolling out via the official Google Play Store.
