HP Announces AI-PC in Keyboard Form Factor with Standalone Capability

At the CES 2026 exhibition, HP announced a device that could change how we think about the workplace. It's the EliteBoard G1a mini-PC, with all its components housed inside a keyboard enclosure. The device is positioned as one of the most compact solutions in the AI PC category.

The EliteBoard G1a's design is that of a full-sized keyboard with an increased thickness of 17mm, containing the computing modules, a fan cooling system, and a set of ports. The foundation for its AI capabilities are the AMD Ryzen AI 5 350 or Ryzen AI 7 370 Pro processors, paired with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, while the claimed performance of its Neural Processing Unit (NPU) exceeds 50 TOPS.

A key feature of the new device is its ability to operate autonomously. Thanks to a removable 35 Wh battery, it can run for up to 3.5 hours without being plugged in. This makes it easy to move your computing power between different work zones, connecting the device to available monitors via standard interfaces.

The announced product addresses a trend highlighted in HP's research, where only 44% of PC users feel their current technology fits their work style. This modular approach, where the core computing device is easily portable, is seen as a way to increase flexibility and productivity.

The HP EliteBoard G1a is expected to go on sale in March 2026. The company will announce pricing closer to the launch date.
