YouTube Removes Dozens of Major AI-Generated Content Channels

YouTube has commenced a mass removal of channels whose primary content was completely generated by artificial intelligence. Dozens of popular pages have been restricted, with a combined audience exceeding 11 million subscribers.

According to a report by Kapwing from November 2025, major channels belonging to the so-called "AI slop" category have vanished from the platform. These include CuentosFacianantes, focused on the Dragon Ball universe with 5.9 million subscribers, and Imperio de Jesus with 5.8 million subscribers, which published religious quizzes.

In total, at least 16 channels from Kapwing's list have been deleted or blocked, with some channels technically remaining on the platform but stripped of all their videos. YouTube's actions follow several weeks after an official statement by the company's CEO, Neal Mohan, about plans to curb the spread of low-quality AI-generated content using enhanced anti-spam systems.

As of now, YouTube has not provided official comments regarding the reasons and scale of these removals. The platform has previously taken targeted measures against misleading AI content, such as removing channels with fake movie trailers. However, the company's policy continues to allow and encourage the use of AI tools for creating Shorts videos.

This situation highlights the growing moderation challenge for video platforms, which are forced to balance fighting low-quality AI-generated content with supporting legitimate creative processes involving neural networks.
