"Thinner Than a Headphone Jack": Honor Unveils a 4.8mm Thick Tablet

Just ahead of MWC 2026, Honor decided not to keep the public waiting and officially unveiled its new flagship tablet, the MagicPad 4. The engineers have managed to do the seemingly impossible, squeezing the device down to a thickness of just 4.8mm, making it the thinnest full-fledged tablet on the market. The current iPad Pro (long considered the benchmark for portability) comes in at 5.1mm. So, Honor's new release edges out its main rival, even if it's only by a hair.

Shrinking the dimensions hasn't hurt the display quality; in fact, it's an upgrade. Ditching the LCD panel of its predecessor, the MagicPad 4 features a 12.3-inch OLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. The diagonal is slightly smaller, but moving away from a backlight and switching to OLED not only made the device thinner but should also have a positive impact on battery life.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. Depending on the configuration, it comes with either 12 or 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It runs Android 16 with Honor's custom MagicOS 10 skin. Multimedia enthusiasts should be pleased with the eight speakers, but the cameras are purely utilitarian: a 13MP main shooter and a 9MP front-facing camera for video calls.

To maintain that record-breaking thinness, the battery had to be scaled back slightly, giving it a capacity of 10,100 mAh. However, thanks to the power-efficient screen and modern chipset, the tablet should still deliver respectable battery life.

Honor is keeping the release date and price under wraps for now. They'll likely spill all the details during MWC 2026.
