AMD Unveils Mini-PC for AI and Teases New Ryzen AI Max 400 Chips

AMD has announced pricing and availability for its own Ryzen AI Halo mini-PC. The unit comes in a 150 × 150 × 43 mm chassis and is powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. The chip features 16 CPU cores, integrated Radeon 8060S graphics with 40 compute units based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, plus an XDNA 2 NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS. One of the key highlights is 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory.

AMD is directly positioning the Ryzen AI Halo as an alternative to NVIDIA’s compact DGX Spark AI computer. That said, AMD’s platform has a few distinct advantages over its rival. For one, it supports the x86 architecture and can run both Windows and Linux, whereas NVIDIA’s device is limited to a Linux environment.

Ryzen AI Halo — a pricey AI PC

Alongside the Ryzen AI Halo announcement, AMD also unveiled the new Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 processor family, which will power the next generation of its platform. They’re expected to arrive in Q3 2026. The new lineup includes three models: the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, Ryzen AI Max PRO 490, and Ryzen AI Max PRO 485. The top-tier version offers 16 cores and 32 threads, a boost clock of up to 5.2 GHz, Radeon 8065S graphics, and an AI engine capable of up to 55 TOPS. The biggest change over the current generation is support for up to 192GB of unified memory, of which up to 160GB can be used as video memory.

AMD claims these systems will be able to run large AI models with over 300 billion parameters locally, while also handling multiple agent-based AI tasks simultaneously. The compact Ryzen AI Halo system will go on sale as early as June 2026, with a recommended price of $3,999.

Systems based on the Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 are expected to appear from AMD partners including ASUS, HP, and Lenovo in the second half of 2026.
