NVIDIA Showed Off AI at Computex You Can Actually Trust to Do Your Computer Work
Leading global tech companies brought plenty of new AI-focused technologies and devices to Computex 2026, but as usual, almost all the headlines went to NVIDIA. This time, Jensen Huang's team didn't just roll out another generation of graphics chips—they introduced a full-fledged ecosystem for "agentic AI": systems that don't just generate text on demand but can independently carry out human instructions.
Even though digital assistants have been seen as normal for a few years now, the company argues the real boom for "useful AI" is just starting. The main event of the show was the Vera Rubin platform entering mass production—a project developed in collaboration with MediaTek and TSMC, positioned not just as a processor but as a full-on foundation for "digital workers": systems that can use apps, reason, pick the right tools, and execute complex sequences of actions from a single starting command.
NVIDIA claims the new hardware architecture "solves the cost problem" of compute—compared to the previous generation, bandwidth for AI agents has increased 10x, while the price per token has dropped 10x. Early adopters include Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceX, and Oracle Cloud.
The software ecosystem also deserves a special mention. The push into agentic AI comes with a launch of developer tools. The NVIDIA Agent Toolkit is now available as an open core platform for building, deploying, and securing AI agents. It includes a physical layer for training robots and autonomous vehicles, plus the OpenShell runtime. This runtime, already ported to Windows, is designed to let autonomous agents safely work with the file system, network, and sensitive data—offering developers ready-made tools for virtual process isolation.

In 2026, the big tech players have stopped competing over raw teraflops and started competing over versatility.
